Reforestation is usually carried out when there are only little of the old trees left or, for example, when agricultural land is to be converted into forest. Forests play an important role for the climate, drinking water, the recreation of the population or for the protection of people, for example from avalanches or landslides. However, these functions can only be fulfilled by an intact forest. This is why young trees have to planted regularly. However, if the forest is tossed by a storm, for example, and there are still no young trees, humans have to help. If this is not done promptly, other vegetation often grows on the areas, which makes subsequent planting much more difficult. Grasses and brambles are spreading. This makes the mechanical process of planting much more laborious and also creates an ideal habitat for mice. As mice often eat and damage young trees, many of the planted trees can die. New trees should therefore be planted as soon as possible after a damage event.<\/em><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
