Until the 1980s and 1990s, there were still very many pure forests. In the meantime, however, there has been a rethinking in the forestry sector. This was triggered by the forest dieback at the time and extensive storm damage. Since then, pure forests have been converted into mixed forests with a high proportion of hardwoods. However, as the growth of trees is slow and forest conversion has been partially slowed down by a lack of money and personnel, not all monocultures have yet become more stable mixed forests. Around 25% of the forest areas still need to be converted. Due to the rapid progression of climate change, the suitability of tree species is changing too quickly. Foresters in some regions have observed that beech and fir trees are now dying due to the drought, although these tree species were considered to be very stable until recently.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
