We take responsibility
As a family business with over 160 years of history, it is very important to us to help shape a sustainable future. Not only to ensure the successful continuation of the company, but also because we feel committed to our employees, the region and the environment.
Regional value creation, energy-efficient and low-emission production as well as the economical use of resources have been a matter of course for us for generations. Nevertheless, there is always an optimization potential.
The climate crisis and geopolitical events make it imperative for us to reduce our energy consumption even further, to cover as much as possible from renewable resources and to improve our CO2 balance.
To achieve this goal...
…we have decided to implement an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2018, to continuously improve the energy-related performance and the energy management system at the Neunkirchen am Sand site and thus increase our energy efficiency.
In detail, this means that we regularly:
- verify that we comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the energy sector.
- check and optimize all processes and systems regarding their energy-related performance.
- train and support our employees regarding their awareness and competence in energy management.
- plan energy efficiency measures, ensure the necessary financial and structural requirements and finally implement them.
- identify, measure and review relevant energy data through regular audits.
- review this energy policy as part of the management audit to ensure that it is up-to-date and adapt it, if necessary.
Climate-friendly SME
As a support on our way to a better CO2-balance, wehave also joined the „Climate-friendly SMEs“ initiative of the of the VEA – Bundesverband der Energie Abnehmer e.V. (Federal Union of Energy Consumers). It not only offers advice and information, but also facilitates valuable exchange with other companies.
