As thin intermediate insulation and for sealing between materials with different levels of thermal expansion (e.g. metal and fireclay), we recommend bio soluble fibre material. Due to its bio solubility, our fibre material is not a hazardous substance and is not classified as harmful to health according to Directive 97/69/EC.
Application limit temperature: 1,100 °C

Health information
Two factors play a key role for the harmful effect of mineral fibres: On the one hand, bio-solubility, which means how well our body can dissolve these fibres. And, on the other hand, the size of the fibre determines whether the body’s own macrophages can enclose the cells and transport them away.
Both are guaranteed with our fibre material due to the chemical composition of the artificially produced glassy fibres with more than 18% alkaline earth metal oxides (calcium oxide, magnesium oxide). This has been verified by Fraunhofer Institut Hannover. The inhalation biopersistence (half-life) of our material is less than 10 days for fibres measuring more than 20 μm in length.
