Is fireclay food-safe?
When fireclay is used in baking stoves, it naturally comes into contact with food.
It is therefore important that the fireclay is food-safe.
Caution: not every fireclay meets the “food-safe” criterion!
Here you can find out whether our fireclay is suitable for contact with food.
Our HBO+, WKS, HBW and HBC fireclay and also our refractory concrete are proven to be food-safe!
According to DIN 51032, consumer goods that come into contact with food must comply with certain limit values regarding the release of lead and cadmium.
The Research Institute for Glass-Ceramics (FGK) and DEKRA have tested and confirmed our materials: the limit values for the release of lead and cadmium are complied with and significantly undercut.
Our ceramics therefore meet the requirements for materials intended to come into contact with food.
We will be happy to provide you with the test reports on request.
Conclusion
Pizza, bread and other delicacies prepared on our fireclay can therefore be consumed without hesitation.
We wish you lots of fun baking and bon appétit!
